These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Moon (“Moon,” “we,” “us”) governing your use of the Moon plugin, dashboard, and website (together, the “Services”). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a server or organization, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
1. The Services
Moon provides moderation tooling for Minecraft servers, including chat filtering, alt and VPN detection, exploit detection, a reports and punishments workflow, staff management, and a dashboard for operating it all. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it current.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your credentials and two-factor methods secure.
- You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to operate a Moon account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Services to break the law or to infringe the rights of others;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Services or their infrastructure;
- use the Services to harass individuals or to process data for purposes unrelated to moderating your own community; or
- resell or sublicense the Services without our written permission.
As an operator, you are responsible for how you moderate your community and for informing your players about the tools you run, including Moon.
4. Your content and data
You retain ownership of the data your server sends to Moon. You grant us the limited license needed to host and process that data to provide the Services, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the necessary rights and disclosures to send player data to Moon.
5. Plans and billing
- Some features require a paid plan. Fees, billing cycles, and any usage limits are shown at the time of purchase.
- Unless stated otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
- We may change pricing with reasonable notice; changes take effect at your next billing cycle.
6. Licensing of the plugin
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and run the Moon plugin on servers you control, solely in connection with a valid Moon account. This license ends if these Terms are terminated.
7. Availability
We work to keep the Services available and reliable, but we provide them on an “as is” and “as available” basis and do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Automated detection is a tool to assist human moderators; it will not catch everything and may occasionally flag something in error.
8. Third-party services
The Services integrate with third parties such as identity providers, payment processors, and hosting platforms. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Services or other users. On termination, your right to use the Services ends and we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Moon disclaims all warranties not expressly stated in these Terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Moon will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability arising from the Services is limited to the amount you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify operators through the dashboard. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Moon is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
